FAQs

Straight answers about how the comparisons are made. The full rules are on How we compare.

What is All Things Compared?

All Things Compared puts 18 comparisons side by side, covering 173 providers. Each page says plainly who each option suits, and shows where every fact came from and the date it was checked.

About

Where do the facts come from?

From each provider's own public pages. Every fact links to the page it came from and shows the date we read it. We do not copy facts from review sites, and the Sources list at the bottom of each page shows every page we used.

What do Verified, Provider claim and Not publicly stated mean?

Verified means we saw it ourselves on the provider's own page. Provider claim means the provider says it about itself and we have not confirmed it, so we word it as "the provider states". Not publicly stated means we looked and the provider does not say, which is not the same as "no".

How we compare

How often are the comparisons updated?

Every fact shows the date it was checked, and each page shows when its facts were last checked. We aim to re-check every comparison at least once every three months, and sooner when a provider changes something we cover. The change log lists each addition and re-check.

How are providers chosen?

Each page states who is included, and the rule is the same for every provider on it. An option that does not meet the rule is left out, and one that does is included whoever it is.

Is anything ranked or rated?

There are no ratings or scores anywhere on the site. Pages list options in name order unless a page says it is ranked and explains the basis. The "Our read" lines and the "fits these needs" tags are our interpretation of what a provider publishes, not endorsements.

No. Nothing on these pages is sold: there are no featured spots, no pre-selected options and no paid placement. A provider that publishes more facts simply has more of its row filled in.

Why does a page say a provider has not stated something?

We read the provider's public pages on the checked date and did not find it. That is not the same as the provider not offering it. If you find it on their own page, tell us and we will check and update the row.

A provider is missing or a fact is wrong. What should I do?

Email contact@allthingscompared.com with the page and the line, and the provider's own page that shows the correct detail. We check that page and, if it bears you out, update the fact, its date and the change log.

Can software or an AI assistant read the data?

Yes. Every comparison has a JSON copy and a Markdown copy, and the site publishes llms.txt, one file holding every comparison, a JSON catalog, an updates feed and a sitemap. They come from the same source as the pages, so they always agree. To cite a page, use its address and the date its facts were checked.

Does the site track me or use cookies?

There are no accounts, cookies or tracking scripts. If you use the light and dark switch, your choice is kept on your own device and nowhere else. The privacy policy has the details.
