## How to read this

- **Verified**: seen on the provider's own page on the date shown. The link goes to that page.
- **Provider claim**: something the provider says about itself, not confirmed by us.
- **Not publicly stated**: the provider's pages do not say. That is not the same as "no".
- **"Our read" lines**: our interpretation of what a provider publishes. They are not scores, ratings or endorsements.

## Needs

- **Newsletters at no cost**: The provider's own pages show a free plan with no end date that can send email campaigns. Free trials are not counted. Read the free-plan row for the contact and send limits, which are small on most free plans.
- **Selling products by email**: The provider's own pages name an online-store platform it connects to (such as Shopify or WooCommerce) or let you sell products inside the product, and they name an ecommerce automation or store-data feature. The tag does not say how well an integration works or which plan includes it.
- **Automations and sequences**: The cheapest paid plan's own page states unlimited automations or sequences, or allows 10 or more steps or actions per automation. Plans that cap automation below 10 steps, list no automation on the cheapest paid plan, or state no step limit are not tagged.
- **Growing a list on a budget**: The provider's own pages show a free plan with room for 1,000 or more contacts, or a cheapest-paid-plan price of $50 per month or less at the 2,500-contact tier (or the nearest tier the page shows), on the billing term stated in the price row. Providers that show no price near that tier are not tagged. The tag does not say which option costs least.

- **Renewal and cancellation:** The help center says there is no minimum contract period for paid plans, and on monthly billing the only commitment is the current month. Annual billing carries a 10% discount. You can close the account at any time, or keep it open and stop monthly payments. A failed card payment blocks sending until the card is fixed. This article is undated and applies to single-team accounts created from 3 August 2026. - **Contact export:** Owners, Admins and Analysts can export contacts to a CSV file from Audience > Exports: all contacts, contacts by email subscription status, a segment or a tag. Files are stored under Exports, and most finish within a few minutes. The article shows 'September 30, 2026'. - **Renewal and cancellation:** The page shows 3 months paid upfront at the promotional rate, then billed monthly; the help article says a multi-month promotional plan reverts to standard monthly pricing on the next billing cycle. Cancelling to Free keeps paid features until the end of the billing cycle. A Free account not logged into for 3 months is deleted. The article's metadata shows 2026-10-28 ('Updated this week'). Downgrading to a lower paid tier applies immediately and starts a new 30-day cycle. A one-time $50 fee can freeze a subscription instead. - Not clear from public sources: Its pricing page does not state the standard monthly price after the promotional months, and its pages disagree on which features the Free plan includes. Automation step limits are not stated.

## Questions

### How were these platforms chosen?

Each sells email campaigns to small businesses, shows plan prices on its own site and was on sale on the check date. Ten providers were checked and all ten met that rule. The page lists them in alphabetical order and does not rank them. Providers that were not researched to the same depth are not listed.

### Where do the prices come from?

Each provider's own pricing page, help center and legal pages, in US dollars on its US site, read on 2026-11-01. Each price says the plan, the contact tier and whether it is billed monthly or yearly. Several pages build their price tables with scripts, so the tables were read in a browser, and tier and billing controls were changed only to read other displayed prices. Kit's tier slider has no 500 or 2,500 tier, ActiveCampaign's starts at 1,000, and HubSpot's page shows no tier price, so those rows use the nearest tier shown. Prices, free-plan limits and offers change often, so check the provider before you buy.

### What does "Not publicly stated" mean?

The provider's pages did not say. It does not mean the answer is no.
